"><br /></p><p style="text-align: right; "><p>آخرین فرزند خانواده ستاری در سال 1334 ه ش در روستای اخلمد در شهرستان چناران، در خانواده ای روحانی به دنیا آمد.&nbsp;</p><p>از همان کودکی علاقه زیادی به فراگیری مسائل دینی و مذهبی نشان می داد و بیشتر در زمینه کتابهای مذهبی به مطالعه می پرداخت. دوران تحصیلات ابتدایی را در زادگاهش به اتمام رسانید. از لحاظ درسی در حد بهترین‌ها بود. خواهرش زهرا ستاری که یک سال از او بزرگتر است می گوید: زمستان‌ها کرسی می گذاشتیم. یادم هست، شب بچه های کلاس را به خانه می آورد و دور کرسی می نشستند و شهید به آنها ریاضی درس می داد، درس‌هایش همه خوب بود.با وجود سن کم، قلم شیوایی داشت و یک بار که در دوره ابتدایی مقاله ای راجع به امام زمان نوشته بود، به خاطر ذکر نکردن اسم شاه در مقاله، مورد تهدید و سرزنش قرار گرفت. شرکت فعال و مداوم در مراسم و امور مذهبی، بخصوص در ایام محرم و صفر، او را میان دار این گونه مراسم معرفی کرده بود. شهید که اندک آشنایی به سبب شغل پدر با حرفه نجاری داشت، خودش برای مسجد جاکفشی درست کرد. او همچنین مکبر مسجد بود. عبد الرحیم دوزنده که از دوستان دوران کودکی شهید است، می گوید: با آنکه کودکی بیش نبود، آیات زیادی از قرآن را حفظ بود. نماز خوبی می خواند، مکبر بود و اذان نیز می گفت. نبود امکانات تحصیلی در روستا از یک سو و کمبود امکانات مالی برای تحصیل در مشهد از سویی دیگر، محمد مهدی را پس از پایان ششم ابتدایی به توصیه مادر روانه کار دکور سازی نزد یکی از اقوام کرد. او با هوش و فراست و پشتکار توانست پس از گذشت چند سال، در زمره یکی از دکور سازان برجسته مشهد در آید. مهربانی و اخلاق حسنه، ویژگی بارز تمام دوران زندگی او بود.&nbsp;</p><p>با شروع حرکت‌ها و مبارزات انقلابی، وی نیز در صف انقلابیون و فعالین بود و توزیع نوارها و پخش اعلامیه های امام را به عده داشت. به خاطر شرکت در راهپیمایی، دستگیر و روانه کلانتری شد. پس از پیروزی انقلاب اسلامی به رهبری امام و شروع جنگ تحمیلی، در پی فرمان امام مبنی بر نیاز نیرو در جبهه ها، شغل نجاری را رها کرد و به سپاه پاسداران پیوست و از سپاه چناران به منطقه اعزام شد. به تامین نیازهای جبهه اهمیت زیادی می داد. او این امر را از زادگاهش اخلمد و اطراف آن شروع کرد، و خود اولین نفری بود که مبلغی را هدیه کرد. همیشه گوش به فرمان امام بود. گر چه هیچ گاه خارج از سخن و میل پدر و مادر عمل نکرده بود، اما زمانی که پدر قصد داشت او را از رفتن به جبهه باز دارد، وی تکلیف شرعی اش را در اولویت قرار داد.شهید که صاحب سه فرزند بود، با آنان رفتاری همراه با احترام و مطابق سنشان داشت و محمد جواد فرزند ارشد وی که در رشته دندانپزشکی تحصیل کرده است می گوید: پدرم تا زمان شهادتش هرگز مرا تنبیه نکرد، از روش خشن تربیتی استفاده نمی کرد، ابهت خاصی داشت. برای تحصیل اهمیت خاصی قایل بود و آن را به کوچکترها پیوسته سفارش می کرد. زمانی که دختر برادرش در دانشگاه تهران پذیرفته شد، خودش امور وی را برعهده گرفت و هر بار که از منطقه باز می گشت ابتدا به دیدن او می رفت.&nbsp;</p><p>شهید ستاری، زمانی که برای بازگرداندن پیکر های شهدا که در تیررس دشمن بودند، داوطلب شد، مثل همیشه آمادگی شهادت را داشت و هنگامی که پیکر یکی از شهدا را به دوش گرفته بود، در منطقه ماووت مورد اصابت ترکش قرار گرفت. ترکشها به ناحیه دست و کتف و پای راست وی آسیب رساند و او در همان جا در تاریخ 1/10/1366 هنگامی که حدود دو ماه از تولد عبدالرحمن آخرین فرزندش می گذشت و شهید تنها توانسته بود یک بار او را ببیند، به شهادت رسید. از وی پنج فرزند به یادگار مانده است.&nbsp;</p><p>پیکر پاکش به زادگاهش منتقل شد و با شکوه فراوان توسط اهالی تشییع شد.&nbsp;</p><p>منبع: &quot;فرهنگ جاودانه های تاریخ، زندگی نامه فرماندهان شهید خراسان&quot;
